Since 2004, he's been the conduit for Steppin' in the Twin Cities, teaching the classic Chicago Eight-count. Celebrated by "Inside Steppin’ Magazine" and the Michael Baisden Show, Kevin's a master instructor and respected judge, known for events like "Milwaukee’s Largest." In 2008, at the "National Promoters Gala and Entertainment Expo," his dedication to art & dance earned him "Promoter of the Year." Kevin created the "Upper Midwest Steppers Ball" Founder of the Celebrating The Sistas" and the "Chocolate and Vanilla Affair," energizing local Steppin’ scenes. He's now sparking a Steppin'

Kevin Johnson, founder and CEO of HVSA, is a highly esteemed figure in the world of dance and a pivotal contributor to the Chicago style “Steppin” community. Recognized nationally for his expertise. He has been featured in "Inside Steppin’ Magazine" and other media platforms, sharing the sophisticated moves of Chicago-style “Steppin”. His dedication to the art has made him a respected professional instructor, sought after as a judge for contests and various events throughout the Midwest.
As a skater in her childhood, Trina's interests evolved, and in 2021, stumbled upon Chicago-style stepping. Currently, an avid stepper, her love for stepping goes beyond the dance itself, it’s also about the sense of unity & community that comes with it. She loves to host stepping parties that bring people together from all walks of life. These high-energy events are more than just parties, they’re a celebration of music, movement, & togetherness and she remains committed to sharing this joy.
Natasha McCrary, born in Mississippi and raised in Alabama, has always loved to dance. She started taking Chicago Style Steppin lessons during COVID in February 2021 to find an outlet from being a caregiver. Her love of the dance grew and led her to expand her knowledge and skill set. Natasha assists Kevin with classes on Wednesday & Thursday nights, assists other groups when asked about their local events and outings, and shares the history of Chicago Style Steppin with the local community.
